Will and Heather wanted a home of their own for a long time.  But due to financial difficulties that many people face today, they were unable to borrow.  They made the smart but tough decision to begin immediately working on credit repair.  After much sacrifice and hard work, they are now homeowners.  Will and Heather said that "UCG was always very patient and friendly and was prompt at answering all our questions.  We found no room for improvement."  We are so proud of Will and Heather and the determination it took to reach their goal of homeownership.

"Owning our home is truly a blessing.  For many years we did not know if owning would be a possibility for us again.  Like many people today we went through several years of unsteady income from job lay offs, to weeks upon weeks of signing up.  We have owned a home once before, but had to sell it due to unsteady work and low income. 

It was a tough decision to sell our first house.  For months we tried and struggled to keep up our payments.  It didn’t take long to fall behind.  Each month we got further and further in debt with late payments, not only on the house but our other bills as well.  We felt like we were swirling down a drain with no hope of swimming out.  So we made a tough decision and put our house on the market.  We knew that our credit was already in trouble due to late payments, but we were headed towards foreclosure.  So we sold the house.  For 11 years we rented.   We worked on paying down large bills, and credit card debt.  It’s took us a long time to build our credit back up.  We both changed jobs and received pay increases but when you’re working and paying current bills it’s hard to pay off old debt.  Still we kept our heads up, and adopted several good spending habits to help us reach our goal. Thanks to the help of Jamie Harrington and the United Carolina Group we finally purchased a brand new home this past spring.  We are so grateful for Jamie’s council and advice.  The United Carolina Group went out of their way to assist us during the purchasing process.  We are so happy with the customer service we received.   Now we are homeowners again.  We try to remember how far we have come, and to continue to spend wisely.  Times are tough for many people right now. If we can offer a word of encouragement we would say don’t give up.  It will get better, just work hard and stay focused and in time you will be able to accomplish your goals."
